Travis Godden
Travis left behind a wonderful
family, including a super wife,
Heidi.
Travis Godden died in an auto accident on August 30, 2003.
Those of us who were fortunate enough to know him, knew
that he was an awesome individual with a beautiful soul.
You will be sorely missed Travis. Godspeed.
Travis loved lifting as well as the people
surrounding the sport. Travis' last
competition was the Beast of the
Chrome & Steel in Bradford.
When Travis wasn't competing, you could
still see him at the meets, supporting his dad
and fellow lifters.
Travis' family has set up a Scholarship fund in his name.
This will keep his memory alive in the high school where
he was a local football hero.

Travis
Please remember Travis......

A typical Tuesday morning...8:42 am...turned on the computer, hopped on the Maryland forum,
expecting a few stories about Carl & Buster's weekend.

I read the words Buster had posted....."Please remember Travis...". Typing those words now still
give me the same feeling of dread that I felt on that morning.

Buster, I will always remember Travis, as will all of us. He was an incredible guy. He made one
hell of an impact on me and I only wish I could have known him for many more years.

I can't begin to imagine the pain that you & Janis are feeling, along with the rest of your family.

Travis will always have a place on my page as well as in my heart. May God bless you.
If anyone has a picture or message that they would like
to leave on Travis' page, please email them to me at

A special message to Heidi from Tina Swanson.....
I'm here if you need me....
                           ...............Tina
Heidi,
I could not tell you this in person because I would have choked up so much that
I would not have been able to talk. As I am typing this I have to keep wiping my
eyes to see the screen as it is.
There was a time right after you and Travis were first engaged. It was the night
Travis and I were in a bar in Warren that we did so many whiskey shots that
you had to come pick us up. We had to meet our parents at the "Bullpen" for
dinner. Both of us, especially me, were so drunk that we could not stand.
Before Travis and I got too messed up, we were shooting pool and talking about
past times. I had only met you breifly prior to this evening. Both of us were still
sober when we started shooting pool and Travis said to me, "Bob, Heidi is the
best thing that has ever happened to me in my life". He talked about you for
most of the night.
When he spoke of you he was so full of excitement and joy. I was happy for
him, that he had found someone who had given him so much joy in his life.
Thank you for being in my brother's life and giving him so much happiness.
Heidi, know this...no matter what happens in the future, I will always consider
you my sister. No matter where I am in the world you can call on me and I will
help you in any way that I can.

                                                                                My Love,
                                                                                       Your brother, Bob

To all those who stop by here......

Losing Travis was a great loss to us all. He was a
great son, husband, brother, lifter, coach and
co-worker, but most of all; a good friend to us
all. He enjoyed being with us all and being
friends with each of you.
You all pay such tribute to that friendship. Our
family truly appreciates all that you do in
Travis' memory. Your strength, encouragement,
friendship and love means so much that we will
never be able to thank you.
Always remember the good times, all of the
laughs, as that is what Travis would want. Take
a minute to remember that smile or something
that Travis did to make you laugh and enjoy the
moment.

With all the greatest affection and friendship from
Travis' family.
