I started powerlifting in high school, my junior year, 93. I was lucky enough to be coached by
Marvin Hall and Coach Seasser. I was a cheerleader and all the girls on th squat wanted to
get stronger so we could do bigger stunts.
My biggest inspirations have been the people that have helped me along the way. Marvin Hall, Billy Jack Talton, John
Magendie, Tony Cardella and Jeff Douglas. To name a few, Jim Ford inspired me to keep competing even after college.
Liz Willet has inspired me a great deal, as well as Katie Ford and Jennifer Thompson. I would have to say that the
greatest inspiration of all though was Mary Lou Reaton. I watched her as a kid and wanted to be an olympic champion
ever since. I think that coming from a gymnastic background has helped me in powerlifting a great deal, perfecting
technique is what it's all about. Hopefully one day my dream of being in the Olympics will come true.
When I was a 3-lift lifter, my best squat was 347,
best bench 352 and best deadlift was 380
sum it all up for us:
I love powerlifting. It is my passion. I dream of it being in the Olympics one day. Powerlifting has taken me to places that
I'd never have gotten to see and I hope that one day I can give back to the sport the way it has given to me.

family background:
I am the oldest of 3 girls. My sisters are Sarah and Jenny. My dad (who played football) is a high school football coach and had
3 girls. He also coached track & field, baseball and powerlifting. He got to coach my 2 younger sisters in high school to 4, 2 AA,
State Powerlifting Championships. So powerlifting was a family affair for many years, both my sisters lifted in high school and
went on to lift in college. Sarah lifted for my almamuter LA TECH and my little sister Jenny lifted for LSU. It was great fun
watching them lift and cheering them on and helping them out. I was fortunate enough to be able to help my dad coach his
girls team one year and it was great helping out the high school kids and seeing them get better and better.
My mom is my rock. She came out to every event and every football game and every meet, she even helped with my suits once
or twice. She's great. I got my athletic ability, stubbornous to never quit and copetitive drive from my dad, but my mom taught
me to keep it in check and she would always put everything in perspective for me. I love them so much. They are the best
parentss in the world.
My boyfriend, Tony Cardella is also someone that I couldn't live without. He is the reason that I have had such success in
recent years. His help and love have gotten me through the rough times.

records/achievments:
In high school I set a bench press record in the 165's at 145 lbs. The next year someone broke it. In college I won the
148's collegiate nationals in 98' and the 165's in 99'. I was a member of the Junior World Team for 98', 99' and 00'. In
2000 I won the gold in the bench press. I used to hold a few collegiate bench press records but I think they are all
broken now. I have been a member of the bechpress world team for the last 4 years now and in 2004 I set the world
record in the 165's with a 352 lb bench and won the Worlds. The past 2 years I've placed second. I have also been on 2
International teams, one for the Pan Am Games in 99' and the Russian Nationals in 99'.
