I had started lifting in high school, in my freshman year, during the
winter, when I had the option to either play basketball or lift in the weight
room durning gym class. Since I didn't like basketball, I went to the weight
room.
I remember getting made fun of because I was a girl and it was all guys in
there. When one of them said that they doubted that I could push 200 lb on
a leg press, I found that it was so easy that I thought it was actually fun to
see how much I could push throughout the year. Since then I was hooked!

It wasn't until 2004 that I got the bug for powerlifting. My first competition
was October 2005 and hopefully there will be many more that I will be
attending by the grace of God.
I'd be lying if I did not mention Joel Toranzo first and foremost. To see a man who was
dedicated to God, lifting and being surrounded by such good friends was a huge
inspiration for me. The amount of knowledge and willingness to share what he knows to
help me become a better lifter and more importantly a better person is probably the
greatest gift I could ever ask for.

sum it all up for us:
To sum it up, Ihave been athletic and injury prone all of my life. I broke my back in 98' while training a horse, tore my
rotator cuff while playing ice hockey, re-tore it in softball and I am currently healing a severed foot that I got playing
football.

I have trained and showed, bought and sold horses for about 18 years of my life. I could always be found either
transporting horses to the shows and/or showing my own horses on the "A" circuit. I was also on swim teams, fencing out
of a club in NYC, golfing and yes even did a few bowling tournaments (ranked 4th in Morris Co, NJ)

Now I drive an 18 wheeler cross country for a living and still find time to lift 5 days a week, whether it be getting a taxi
out of a truck stop to take me to the local gym or being creative with workouts in/out of my truck. Powerlifting is
defiantly one of my other callings in life. At the very end of it, I thank Joel Toranzo for the religious preachings, because
without prayer and love for God I could never be the strong, stubborn pain in the...that I am today.

family background:
I was brought up by the best grandparents in the world. Back in 2003, I had met my dad
unexpectedly. I used to trasnsport horses across the country and I'd leave my trailer in
a local truck yard that offered diesel fuel accounts. One day I had seen a guy who kinda
looked like me and walked like me. So I walked up to him and asked him if his last
name was DeOcampo. He said "yeah". In return I said "hi dad". Since then we have
been extremely tight. My mom lived in Florida and recently passed away, April 2006. I
am divorced from a gorgeous blue eyed man. Although it wasn't a marriage meant to
be, Jerry and I are still best of friends.
