Currently Gulf Shores, AL - Born in Lafayette, LA
I started working our with weights when I was 8 and
discovered the sport and began competing in 1999.
Successful women in the strength sport and fitness industry. When I
was younger, I realized that the thing I happened to be good at was
something that usually guys are into. I really liked lifting and I was
good at it, so seeing other women succeeed in the industry is what
inspired me to continue to try and take my lifting and experiences to
higher levels.
USAPL, IPF ... I would like to do a WABDL Worlds, 100% RAW Worlds, and a Bench
America Worlds at some point in my career. I like everything the USAPL and IPF
represent, so I've been competing through them for awhile and I will continue to.
335 squat (I injured my knee for good on that squat), 248 bench, 325 deadlift, 830 total
sum it all up for us:
This is what I do and this is who I am. Lifting weights has been my life since I was
very young. I lift because I like the feeling it gives me; I like the release of energy. It
also makes me feel more independent. If a guy that I start dating has a problem with
me powerlifting, he's out the door. Even my dad can tell you that. We're a small
community and I love everyone in it, no matter what federation they lift for. It's so
fun to hang out with other people who have similar interests. Powerlifting is just a
great sport in so many ways.
weight class:
114 / 52 kg
family background:
My dad lettered in "Speech" in high school so the athletic side had to have come from
my mom. I get my obsessive attention to detail and organization from my dad. I get my
want for new experiences, my friendliness and my strength (mentally and physically)
from my mom. Both of my parents are always wanting to help others and volunteer to
do things and I get that from them also. My brother playes soccer for most of his life
and football in high school. My sister was never really an athlete, although she did
inherit traps and triceps. She's very supportive of my competing and has even attended
some of my meets.
future goals:
IPF World Champion status. I'm SO close!! I know my day is coming. It may even be in
Thisted, Denmark in May of 2007.
best gyn lifts:
I squatted 340x2 just before the meet that I injured my knee. I benched 260 (it must have
been a good day - I'm getting used to my shirt, so I'm starting to become more consistent).
My deadlift has never been anything to brag about, it's usually equat to my squat.
