sum it all up for us:
I was always active in sports. Always did some type of
lifting, didn't realize girls could go big until I was done
having kids! Did a basic program hitting all of the body
parts for about 3 months. The gym owner, who was an
ex-marine took note that I was pretty strong for a girl
and started training me for power. I competed in
non-sanctioned meets as a raw lifter for 3 years. I
have so many meet shirts I can't keep track. We did
3-4 meets per year. I just loved to feel strong, and
loved the comraderie and pump I got from
powerlifting. In 2000 our team did the York meet and
shrtly after I joined the IPA when Mike and I opened
Nazareth Barbell.

I got a Karin's denim squat suit last year and haven't
put it on since she added the poly insert (I'm a squat
puss). I started using a Karin's double denim bench
shirtafter trying a single ply poly, double poly and an
inzer single ply denim. I had to be cut out of them all!
I love Karin's shirts. I'm learning how to work it.

In November 2002 I did the IPA Nationals for the first
time. I was scared, didn't have much confidence. I
opened raw, did my first 2 attempts raw, then was
talked into using the shirt. I ended up with a 181
record of 230.  I am currently screwing around with
275-305.
