I am married, but I don't think that is what defines me as a person. I hope that I can always maintain enough of myself that a man will never "define" me. We have 3 kids, a 21 year old son, and 2 daughters, 14 & 10. At one time I thought this is what I was living for. I moved out of Candyland and have started thinking of myself more.
summary in my own words:
Zane & I have always pretty much done everything together. We went to a local powerlifting meet in April 2002. We knew then that it was something we wanted to do. We hooked up with a small local team and did a few meets. I had only been training a few months when I was diagnosed with 2 herniated disks in my neck. This pretty much ended my full power career. I concentrated on bench only for awhile because it was the only thing that didn't cause me excrutiating pain. I have healed up pretty well so far, and hope to be training full power again soon. I had surgery on my neck in December 2004. The surgeon told me there was a 50/50 chance that I would squat again. Just about a year later I squatted 505 at a meet in Upstate New York. Things are moving along just as I wanted. As a wife and mother, I have many commitments to my family, and it was hard to always make it to the gym. To solve this problem Zane & I bought some equipment and set up a personal "hardcore gym". No problems now. We train when we want. We have since opened that gym to the public and are having a great time with it. We love to hook up with other people and travel to their gyms or have people over to our place. The coolest part about competing is meeting so many cool people. I have made alot of friends in a very short time, and I have so many memories that will last me a lifetime.
